Maruvasham: Directed by Anuram. With Sminu Sijo, Sreejith Ravi, Jayashankar, Alexander Prasanth. Surendran, a native of Kuruvanadu works as the night security at the nearby ATM of a private Bank called MCD. One night, a gang of three including a lady, attacks and loots the ATM. On his attempt to hinder them, Surendran grabs one of their handguns and fires. The gang escapes with the wounded man and the money. As part of investigation, Surendran is put under police custody for interrogation. Through the C camera visuals, it was evident that Surendran is innocent in the crime. Hence, the interrogation was peaceful. Meanwhile, knowing that Surendran is under custody, his daughter who already has mental disorder, makes a suicide attempt and i s admitted to hospital. This news puts Surendran under terrible distress. She was married to Jubin, Surendran’s neighbor who had become an orphan for which Surendran also was a cause. Still, Surendran was the care- taker of his daughter. By this time, the dead body of the shot-dead gangster is found from a remote place. It was Listin, the brother of anotorious gon leader Stephen, who works for ahighly influential Politian. Hamed Hasan is apolitician who man- ages too many illegal businesses and Stephen is at present in jail for the sake of the politician. Despite being in jail, Ste- phen is still powerful and influential. Knowing the death of Listin, Stephen’s close relative Bastin comes to the scene for investigation of the case. The mode of interrogation, then takes a drastic twist. Outside, Stephen’s gang is waitng to get Surendran released and inside, Bastin’s police team puts terrible pressure on Surendran. The story, then revolves around the problems Surendran faces and how he struggles to come outofthem.
